Literature Map

I discovered this crowd-sourced Literature Map from Gnooks years ago, and forgot about it, and re-discovered it again tonight. This is the coolest things ever. Type in the name of an author you enjoy and you will get a map with the names of similar authors.

Here are the results for Kate Atkinson. You can see her name in the middle and then related names around. I notice that Tracy Chevalier, whom I did not much care for is in the upper left. Yet in the mid-right are authors I have really enjoyed: Barbara Kingsolver, Anne Tyler, Margaret Atwood, David Mitchell, Daphne Du Maurier. I’m going to add the other mid-right names to my ToRead pile.

Try it out.
