Hamburger Buns
1 T active-dry yeast
1/2 C warm water
1/2 C milk
1 large egg
2 T olive oil
2 T sugar
1 t salt
3 C flour
1 T butter
Sesame seeds
Put the warm water into your large bowl and stir in the yeast. Let it rest until it poofs up a bit.
In another bowl, combine milk, egg, oil, sugar, and salt. Add to yeast bowl and stir.
Add flour and stir to combine. Knead on low speed or by hand for 10 minutes.
Let dough rise in bowl until double, usually about an hour.
On a flour-dusted work surface or pastry cloth, dump out the dough and divide in to 8 pieces. Shape each into a ball and smoosh down a bit until it looks like a hamburger bun shape.
Put the balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let rise for 30-45 minutes.
Heat oven to 375°F.
Melt the butter and gently brush or drizzle it over the buns. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake until golden brown, 15-17 mnutes.
Cool before slicing.
